Lighting incentive FAQs

Find quick answers about eligibility, rebate paperwork, ordering, and timelines for the lighting incentive process.

Who can participate in the lighting incentive program?
Businesses, farms, and non-profit organizations are all eligible to participate in the lighting rebate program.
Do I have to pay for the lights upfront and then wait for a rebate?
No, you don’t. One of the best features of the rebate program is that you only pay what’s listed on the form. Hill Electric Supply takes care of the paperwork and handles the rebate process directly with the utility company.
How many lights can we get?
As many as you can install. There is no cap on the number of lights you can receive through this program.
Who is responsible for installing the new lights?
You have two options: install the lights yourself or hire someone. If you decide to hire a professional, we can recommend experienced installers.
If the lights are free for me, how does Hill Electric make money?
The utility company pays us for the lights, allowing us to provide them at no cost to you.
How long is the program available?
The program is available until the end of the year. We expect it to continue, but it may become more expensive.
What are the important program rules?
To ensure the integrity of our program, keep in mind these rules: 1) You cannot give away your new lights. 2) You cannot sell your new lights. 3) The lights must be installed within two months of receiving them. The utility company may conduct random inspections to ensure compliance with the installation requirements.
